Description
Borage (Borago officinalis), also known as Starflower, is an annual herb that remains in place from year to year by self seeding. It can grow up to a height of about a metre. The leaves and stems are covered in tiny hairs. Flowers are most often blue, but can have a pink tint and are, on rare occasions, fully pink.
There is also a white cultivar available, they form large floral displays with multiple flowers blooming simultaneously.
The flowering season is between June – September in the UK.
